Scheduled Tasks Problem

I've been trying to change the schedule for some of the System Tasks but it does not work.


Here are the steps I used to reproduce the problem:


  1. Log in with an administrator account
  2. Go to Antivirus -> Virus Scan in the Advanced View
  3. Right-click on any task and select Schedule
  4. Change the schedule to whatever
  5. Press OK to save and close the window
  6. The window does not close and no error messages appear.
  7. Press Cancel to close the window and lose my schedule changes


Sometimes the icon indicating a schedule has been set appears but when I check the schedule, it has not been set. Then the icon disappears.


Does anyone know why this is happening? I've even checked to make sure that the schedules do not overlap.

    - is this a recent issue or did it start happening immediately after installing BitDefender.

  • As a first step, try disabling User Account Control for Vista in the Control Panel and test if this issue reoccurs.
