i read that before i posted but i dont want to uninstall it,i would lose my settings and i dont want to redo it.

for future reference bitdefender should have a backup password or saftey question in case you forget your password.

You can Save your settings, reinstall and then Restore the settings as they were before. Open BitDefender Management Console, and go to General -> Settings. There, at the bottom of the page, you'll see the section Manage settings. From there you can Save all settings in a folder and then use that folder to Load all settings.

That would be a good idea, but what if you forget those too? Or what if someone else set those with something you don't know? You'll ask for a second backup, right?

Or are you talking about an universal password, something that can't be changed? In this case, it would be like the password doesn't even exist, because everyone who wants to disable the password would use that universal, backup password.

So you see? What you ask can be made really easily, but it wouldn't offer more then what BD already has.

So, next time you give your PC to someone else, be sure to put a password to everything you have important in your PC (antivirus included), just so you won't have any such bad surprises.

  • Hello infamous

You can also try this open taskmanager by going to start, run,at the run dialog box type taskmgr and press enter. Now go to the processestab and kill bdmcon.exe. Put in your installation disc and choose for modify/repair.
