Bitdefender Antivirus 2009!
This has got the be THEE worst anti-virus I've ever used! I'm done with it.
I ordered a 3 user license for a year and i no longer need it. I installed it on my desktop and laptop in Feb. of '09. A couple of days later had nothing but problems on the desktop. i uninstalled it and ran a free anti-virus and it found 2 viruses.
Last weekend (about 2 1/2 months after first purchase/installation) BitDefender wouldn't update. i couldn't get it to run a scan, and couldn't even visit other ant-virus websites. I knew i had a virus. I took out the hard drive and placed it in an external case and scanned it with the free anti-virus. I didn't just have A virus . . .
IT FOUND 394 VIRUSES!!!!!!!!! 394?! how did this happen? I'm not some sicko on **** sites, i don't illegally download music, i dont install pirated software!
This is one of the worst products I've ever used and I'm sad and ashamed i even purchased it. i will NEVER again use this and i hope that other people avoid it like the plague!
good bye BitDefender! I'm off to reformat my hard drive since your product failed to protect it!

Hi
if you have a log of your scans on that drive, after you took it out, please post it here.

Rick I've used BitDefender for a long time and I recently upgraded my subscription for 5 PC's for 3 years because I have been so impressed with it. However one of my PC's had an issue last week and after scanning it came up with 260 some virus hits, but it was all the same virus that just replicated itself over and over to avoid being stopped. I'm not sure how it happened, or how it got through, it was one of the very new nasty ones but regardless BitDefender was able to clean it out and the PC is still in perfect working order now.
I agree with hemanth that you should post a log so it can be reviewed by the BD team.
I am still very happy with BitDefender as I have used almost every other Security Suite available in the past and been disappointed.0 -
Hi Jared,
the virus was probably there in your system, replicating itself. The BD did not have a signature for it then. When a signature arrived, BD detected and removed it.
