Bd Antivirus 2009 Seizes Up

Hi. We are running XP Home SP3 and are using BD Antivirus 2009 exclusively. No other malware, spyware, firewalls or anti-virus programs. Our issue is with Deep Scan option only. Program runs for short while then freezes up entire system. We have to reboot evrytime as CTRL-ALT-DEL does not respond. No error messages appear. We did apply a patch we found at Bitdefender Tech. But that did not fix issue. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

We did not know how to edit our original post so we have to add that there was an error message during the patch installation process. Message code is: (0x0000135)
