Scanning Outgoing Mail When No Mail's Being Sent

Options

For quite some time, and increasinggly now, my bitdefender antivirus 2009 has been showing a box, "SCANNING OUTGOING MAIL" from time to time. this appears when i'm not sending any mail at all. Funnily, I've never seen it appear when i'm actually sending mail!!

I heard this might be the work of some hidden virus, but the antivirus has removed all infected files (malware or any other) as far as i know. and my scans seem to be working fine.

Can anyone tell me if this is really a problem or does it have some other explanation??

Thanks,

    to load (you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu);

    - select "SAFE MODE" in the text menu and press "Enter".

    - wait while Windows loads in Safe Mode; this process ends with a confirmation

    message; click "Yes" to acknowledge.

    3. Copy the vshield.xml file downloaded earlier in the next location : C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009 and choose Yes when you will be asked if you want to replace the file .

    4. Restart your computer in Normal Mode and let us know if the same sittuation occurs .

    Thank you .

  • Hi alex,

    I've replaced the vshield file. i'll let you know if it worked. anyway, after the malware scans started working properly, the "Scanning Outgoing Mail" messages have become very rare. only remember seeing it once, i.e. when i posted this.
