Can't Navigate In Any Browser Althought Other Aplications Work

I've just updated my Bit DEfender to BD Internet Security 2009. Everything was working great (2 nights ago), But then last night after I turned the laptop on I could not navigate any sites, I've tried with IE 8, Firefox and Google Chrome. Strange thing is that I can log in Skype and torrentz but not on mail, Browser or even update BD (I get an error).


I noticed that when turning the firewall off it starts working normally, but I don't think is a good idea to turn it off every time I want to check my mail or navigate a website.


I Have Windows XP Pro, Yesterday I was for 2 hours playing with the configurations of the firewall and could not configure it to let me navigagte, check mail or update BD, only when I turned the Firewall off.


I'm getting a bit desperate here, any help would be deeply appreciated (should I just unninstal it and reinstall it?)

  • Forgot to mention that my connection is a BRoadband 100 MB optic cable, this moment I'm wirelless but I have tryed with cable and also tryed with other connection I have (a mobile pen 3.0MB) and the problem is the same to all connections I make.

    I will try it when I get home but I'm not using Internet Explorer, I'm using Google Chrome.


    Also the BD virus updates don't work, as the thunderbird mail. I can only get skype to connect online, is that solution solving all these problems or just the IE problem?


    Also as I sayd it is not a problem with that specific connection since I have more than one and none works.

    When you will be in front of your computer , please follow the next link:http://www.sendspace.com/file/e8dhze and download the file called "BDupgradeLog.bat" . Run it and wait until the resulting reports : livesrv.log, tracert.log, nslookup.log, tracert1.log and nslookup1.log are generated . Archive them under a single file , upload it on : http://www.sendspace.com/ and send us back the download link .

    Solution - Unninstal and Reinstall Bit Defender.
