Automatic Update Error

Hello

I have had BDIS 2009 for about 5 months now without any problems. Just in the last 2 weeks, i noticed the software wasn't installing updates. I have tried the following on your support website:

1. Troubleshooting Bitdefender Update Service Unavailability using the services.msc, and the status is on started.

2. Troubleshooting Automatic Update. I disabled my Vista Firewall for BDIS 2009 Firewall and Antispyware. I tried using your update location settings of upgrade.bitdefender.com but no success. If i even type that into the browser address window, your server cant be found. I don't use proxies for internet connection because i use a mobile device set to DHCP.

When the problem started 2 weeks ago, i have tried repairing the software twice and even uninstalling and reinstalling the same number of time, but the problem persist. I was initially using your manual updates which worked well then, but few days back and till now, when i download your manual updates and try installing, the options on the wizard is 1. to repair the bitdefender update and 2. to remove all bitdefender updates. This was not always the case in the past, but i just choose 1. which does not do anything. I have not been able to update in 6 days.

I sent Tech. Support a complaint on your website but didn't get a reply and i still have about 7 months on the license.

What is the problem?

    Hello Merino,

Due to their policy , Gmail blocks any emails that contains an attachment with an executable file . Our email had an attachment with some special tools and most probably , that was the reason why you haven't received it by now . I have sent you a new reply and this time I have uploaded these tools on a free upload site , from where you can download them without any problems . Follow our instructions and reply please with the logs that we need .

    Thank you .

    Hey!

Thanks for your help. I already fixed the problem using the Application log file in Event Viewer. It's also good to learn that Gmail blocks .exe files.

    Regards.
