What's The True Price Of Bd 2010?

Hi folks,

My name is Abe and I'm new here. After bad experience(s) with Norton, I did some digging around and read that BD is very good and possibly better than Norton. My problem is when I try to find where to purchase, I'm getting conflicting prices on the net from retailers and Bitdefender's own website. Bitdefender's website show I can purchase the 2010 version that protects upto 3 PC's for a year for only $29.95 which is a great price but then I look at another website which is apparently from bitdfender and it states I can buy the same one for $49.95. I have posted a link to both websites but can anyone tell me which is the right one? Thanks

    Hello ARJR,

The price depends on the product version that you want to buy.

    About your confusion:

The product posted in the main page (www.bitdefender.com) is BitDefender Insternet Security, which costs 49.95$ (as written on the main page).

On the other hand, the other link you posted (the first one) points to BitDefender Antivirus, not Internet Security. That is why it's cheaper (29.95$). The Internet Security version is pointed here: http://www.bitdefender.com/2010/en/2/inter_sec.html and, as you can see, it has the same 49.95$ price, as written on the main page of the site.

Differences between BitDefender Antivirus and BitDefender Internet Security (and BitDefender Total Security) can be viewed here: http://www.bitdefender.com/2010/en/2/products.html

Also, before buying, you can download a free 30-day trial version, for any version of BitDefender 2010 (Antivirus, Internet Security, Total Security). Just click the "Try" link for your desired product.

Thanks Cris, I purchased the Antivirus version for $29.95 after trying out the free trial version and forgive me if this sounds noobish but, should I delete Norton that came with my new computer?

  • Yes, you have to uninstall Norton Antivirus, as multiple security software installed at the same time can cause various problems, from system performance drops, to antivirus/system instability and crashes.

As far as I know, Norton offers a Removal Tool for it's products, to be sure that you completely remove any traces of Norton from your system.

Also, it's highly recommended that you remove Norton before installing BitDefender.
