My computer contains a file which is infected with this "Backdoor.Dssdoor.C", and BitDefender can't get rid of it. No quarantine, no deletion. I've tried the safe mode scan 3 times, all to no avail. I've tried disabling Real-time Protection and then scanning, but still nothing.
For now, I've just trapped the file in a system of folders. Whenever I open the folder containing the file/virus, a notice repeatedly comes up saying it's blocked the virus. I cannot use standard deletion either, that brings up the repeated notice as well. I've tried Unlocker, with the same results.
My foolish brother, who had downloaded the file in the first place, claims it's a false positive.
Now, I have 2 questions:
1.) How do I get rid of this file? I didn't even want it on my computer in the first place.
" />
2.) If the file IS a false positive, how come I can't delete it?
This is quite the predicament, as I want to delete the file, but I don't think I can unless I turn off Real-Time Protection. And I really don't want to do that, for risk of infecting my computer, in case it's not a false positive.
Any advice?
