Rdp Help!

Hi All

I have recently changed my Security Suite from Outpost 2009 to Bitdefender Internet Security 2010.

I previously had no problems with RDP Sessions - simply set up to allow RDP sessions on port 3389.

I have configured a new rule as follows:

svchost.exe / traffic&listen / all adaptor types / Local Address Port RDP (3389) / Remote Address Port 1024-65535 / TCP

Seemed pretty straightforward but I cannot connect still so not sure whats blocking - I have moved the rule to the top spot!

Any suggestions welcome as its breaking me!

Hello voipboy,

For start, please open BitDefender in Expert Mode, click on Firewall, select the Network tab and click on your Local network Adapter then pull down the drop-down menu and select "Trusted Local", Stealth to "No" and Generic to "Yes".

If the same issue occurs, please go to the next location C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2010\Firewall, look after the "profiles.xml" and "rules.xml" files, upload them on http://www.sendspace.com/ then send me a PM with the download links.

Hello,

First, can you connect if you disable the firewall? In the firewall's traffic tab, can you see that svchost.exe is listening on port 3389?

Please try to disable TCP Offloading options on your network adapter (go to network adapter's Properties->Configure->Advanced) and see if that has any effect.

Firstly yes if I disable I can RDP in

I can also see that svchost.exe is listening correctly - though it identifies it as RDP as opposed to port 3389 when port is inputted...

I do not have any option on my belkin wireless adaptor for TCP offloading..

I will be looking at uninstallling this soon as something so simple should not cause such a nightmare!

Managed to get this problem sorted - not too sure how precisely as I tried every config possible so still not sure what the issue was!
