License Key Is Invalid?
My computer is a XP sp3 2.2 ghz 1 gb ram. My norton expired and I downloaded the norton uninstall tool from the website and then went to my registry to confirm I had no traces of it left. Then I downloaded the trial version of bit defender 2010.
First thing I immediately got was the xml core 4.0 update that kept asking to be installed over and over. Fixed that then I got bit defender services not responding for a few seconds and then was told my license key is invalid! I'm just doing a trial version and don't even have a license so how can this be happening and how do you fix it?
From reading this forum there seems to be quite a lot of obvious bugs that they don't care about fixing anytime soon. I would really like to get it work to evaluate it but if its going to be this much trouble I will gladly go back to norton were its nothing but one click and your done.

Hello joedaly12,
If possible, please take a screen-shot of the error message that you got. You can upload it on http://www.sendspace.com/ then post here the download link . After that please try to repair BitDefender . In order to do this, please click on Start, choose All Programs, select BitDefender 2010 and then select Repair or Remove . Choose Next when the new window will appear and then choose Repair. Reboot your computer when prompted and proceed with the repair process of BitDefender.
Let us know what happened.

Ok here is the link

I then went and repaired Bit Defender as you instructed. This is my secondary PC. I have very little programs and processes running on this computer. No other spyware/AV programs on it except malware bytes. It takes on average about 25 seconds to start up. In the the tray the first thing that comes up in the bit defender icon and its red and says "bit defender services are loading" then about a second later it says "bit defender services are not responding" and then immediately followed by the "the current bit defender key is invalid! Your pc is no longer protected." and the bit defender icon is greyed out.
I went ahead and uninstalled using your uninstaller and reinstalled but that didn't change anything. Any advice would be helpful thanks for you reply.0 -
Ok I did the steps that you instructed me to do and it took care of the invalid key issue. The problem I have now is that it says the firewall is disabled and I cannot fix it. I click to enable the firewall and I get the error "Failed to communicate with the BitDefender Security Service" I first chose to repair and then uninstalled and reinstalled and still not able to enable the firewall.
