Bitdefender Threat Scanner Service - What Is It Good For?

I was checking the services that are running on my computer and in doing so I found 4 services that obviously belong to Bitdefender. One of them made me start thinking - BitDefender Threat Scanner. On my computer it is set to start manually and it is currently not running. I would like to know what this service is good for and is this its normal behavior or is my computer infected with some malware that managed to bypass BitDefender?

Hello Ferron,

BitDefender Threat Scanner is the service which is responsible for the BitDefender scanning. Basically, when a scan is started, this service starts up and access the BitDefender scan files necessary for this operation. It is set to Manual, so that after the scan stops, the files used for scanning to not be loaded anymore.
