Where Is Bitdefender Plus 2008

Where is BitDefender Plus 2008 ? Why don't you release version Plus in new Package. I only need strong antivirus, antispyware and firewall to control Network connection as BitDefender Antivirus Plus 10. From BitDefender AV to BitDefender IS have many features that i think i will not use. And how will i upgrade to version 2008 when i am using BitDefender AV Plus 10

BD Plus will not be developed anymore, users who have a BD 10 Plus license will receive a free upgrade to BD 11 IS.

You can choose what modules you wish to install during setup. You can only install what you need, you don't have to install it with all the features.

Andrei, I don't see the feature when install of BitDefender Internet Security 2008 which permit me to chose modules i need.

I don't see modules : Anti Rootkit (Scan for rootkit), anti spyware in BitDefender Antivirus.

I also have installed BDIS2008 on my two computers, and I did not see any option to choose which modules are installed. On my computer which is running VISTA Home Premium, I had to uninstall BD, as it was not running well, whereas previously BD AV Plus v. 10 was running quite well. :huh:

antispyware and rootkit modules are now implemented in the virus scan. So you will not find any separate entries that were present and the past versions. If you perform a deep scan or full scan BitDefender will also scan on rootkits. Only in the quick scan there isn't a rootkit scan,memory,registry or cookies.

You can't choose anymore which functions you wanted to install. If you don't need a firewall,parental control,... you have to buy BitDefender Antivirus 2008.

I don't need a paretal control, anti spam but i need firewall to control the network connection (i can block internet when i need). Additionaly, the module antirootkit now is put in Deep Scan feature be very inconvenient.

Hmm while bitdefender av plus 10 has been not fixed error about GUI

It would have been a good ideea if the user could choose which modules to install. If this option dissapeared, you can simply deactivate the modules you don't need. It will have the same effect (in addition, maybe you'll need them later).

I understand but if you want a firewall you must use BitDefender Internet Security 2008. I

I think the reason why they add the rootkit scan to the virusscan is that you don't have to run it as an separate scan.

The only problem you than could have are the pop-up's that a module isn't enabled. rootkit is also included in the full scan.

I have no time to test it but try to use the uninstaller and see if you can remove unnecessary functions.
