Total Security 2010 Licence Key Not Accepted

Yesterday I bought a five-PC licence to Total Security 2010 and have now installed it on four systems. Some minor installation glitches but nothing serious. Problems start with registration. First system (desktop XP Pro SP3 English), registration with licence key OK. Second system (laptop W7 English), upgrade from evaluation version OK. Third (laptop W7 English) and fourth system (netbook XP Home SP3 Spanish), installation OK but registration with the same key tells me "The license key you have entered does not match this product type". Looking at my account page on the BD site shows me that my licence is active and the key I use is correct. I managed to assign the evaluation licence on the third system but the fourth is now unprotected. Please help.

  • Hello Madek,

Your license key is valid for BitDefender Total Security 2010 (with Online Backup) . Unfortuantely, this version of BitDefender (with Online Backup) is not available for sale in Spain. You have installed the installation kit which does not have this module included and that is why you receive that particular message . Unfortunately, the only way you are able to overcome this sittuation is by installing the English version of BitDefender Total Security 2010 (with Online backup) . Here are the installation steps :

    1. Save and run first the uninstall tool from the next link and then reboot the PC:

    http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall

    2. Save your product from the next link:

    http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/de...ty_2010_32b.exe

    - copy and paste the link into your browser and press [Enter].

    - a new window will appear with two options: [save] and [run] - press [save]

    - after saving the file, please run it in order to install it.

    3. Register it with your license key .

    Thank you.
