Seperate Antispyware Program
I've heard that in order to be fully secure from Spyware and other Malware, it is needed to install seperate Antispyware programs, since BitDefender is more of an Antivirus than an antispyware program. Is this true? Some people have reported programs like Spyware Doctor detect more than 50 items on their PC's, while BitDefender detected only 2.
Thank you for your advice.

Hello Greatbigmouth
Yes that is true you need separate antispyware programs.BitDefender knows alot of spyware but not that many that specific programs know. I will explain why spyware doctor finds so many infections. The count of spyware doctors works as follow it detects every file from the same infection. To give an example an infection has made a folder with 50 files spyware doctor will say 50 infections found. Other antispyware and BitDefender will mark it as just 1 infection.

Thanks for your response.
What program do you recommend? (Willing to pay for it) Will it conflict in any way with BitDefender?0 -
Hello Greatbigmouth
Almost every antispyware program works together with BitDefender without any problems. There were some issues with Spy Sweeper in the past but normally they are fixed.
My favourites are :
Counterspy (paid version)
superantispyware (very good program to remove difficult malware) (free or paid version available). recommendedHere you can see the differences
spyware doctor The starter edition is free and can delete the detected infections but has only 1 realtime protection guard.
You should only let run one application in realtime mode.
No problem. Glad that I could help you.

Thanks,
What exactly do you mean by only letting one program run in Real Time mode? Do you mean only BitDefender, and not the seperate antispyware? Or can you run BitDefender, and only one seperate program in real time mode?
Thanks

Hello Greatbigmouth
Sorry that I wasn't very clear. I mean that you may only run the realtime protection of one antispyware together with BitDefender realtime protection. All the other antispyware must you only run as an on-demand scan.

Thank you for clearing this up. I will try the trials of those programs and see how things go.
