Cant Uninstall Bdts 2009

As my BD 2009 has recently expired i decided to upgrade to 2010 internet security as i didn's use the extras intotal security. The computer had been without protection for a few days when i recieved BD 2010 so I installed it straight away with intent to uninstall BDts 2009 the next day. I have tried to uninstall BDts 2009 but "insufficient priviliges" has kept me from uninstalling it. I now can't even run BDts 2009. I have tried turning off User Account Control and I have also tried using an alternative uninstaller. I'm not too sure what to do next.

Hello koalafighter,

In order to overcome this sittuation please follow the steps bellow :

1. Download the BitDefender uninstall tool from the next link:http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall .

2. Start your computer in Safe Mode and run the tool :

- restart the computer;

- repeatedly press the "F8" key several times before Microsoft Windows begins

to load (you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu);

- select "SAFE MODE" in the text menu and press "Enter".

- wait while Windows loads in Safe Mode; this process ends with a confirmation

message; click "Yes" to acknowledge.

3. Reboot your computer normally then download the BitDefender 2010 installation kit.

4. Run it and you should be able to install the product without any problems.
