False Positive? BACKDOOR.BIFROSE.ADR

My customers are reporting a virus alert (BACKDOOR.BIFROSE.ADR) from BitDefender when downloading ccims.exe from our site at http://www.clearcontext.com/download_thanks.html . However, no other AV program is reporting this error and when I submit here ( http://virusscan.jotti.org/ ) BitDefender is the only application listed that finds a problem with the executable.

At this point I think this is a false positive on BitDefender's part. Can you please confirm for me and also let me know what I can do to fix the problem?

Thanks.

  • Hi meadorbd

Do this make a pasword protected archive from ccims.exe. The password you must use is infected. Then uploaded it and attach it to your next reply. Then wait till someone of the virus research team or BitDefender team replies on your topic.

    Niels:

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, the file is over 2MB and therefore can't be attached to a post in your forums. Instead, I have put the zip file you ask for here:

    http://www.clearcontext.com/resources/atta...ms-infected.zip

Password is 'infected'. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Brad.

  • The signature has been deactivated. The detection should disappear in max 2 hours. If the detection is still there after this afternoon, send me a PM.

  • That was gladly done.

  • I just checked and the issue is resolved. Thank you for the assistance.
