Bdimguiaux.exe

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a reliable solution to prevent the WLM/MSN encryption. I can disable or enable the encryption in the BD menu but this does not change anything. I also tried to add my contacts in the exclusion list and it did not work either... then I contacted the French BD support which preferred to be silent after a few exchanges. I tried to remove everything in Safe mode, run the BD cleaner/uninstall tool and then reinstall everything. Did not work.

Now the only solution I have found is to kill the bdimguiaux.exe process when I start WLM.

How I can prevent this "thing" to run automatically? Any registry key/config file I can delete/configure to make this works (or at least doesn't work at all).

I have the issue on Win 7, a friend of mine on XP and my brother on Vista.

Any help is more than welcome :)

Thanks a lot.

    Hello cernus,

How do you know the encryption is still on if you disabled it and how it's interfering with your WLM session?

  • Hello Cristi,

I know it is working because everytime I receive a message from someone who also has BD this message:

*BitDefender is trying to establish a secure connection in order to encrypt this conversation.

*BitDefender: A secure connection has been established. This conversation is encrypted.

So even if the encryption is enabled or disabled it is still there.

The only interference is due to those messages. But one thing I do not understand, why if I disable the encryption, if I put some contacts in the exclusion list it is still there. This is clearly a bug and it seems it was there with BD 2009 according to some posts I found with google.

Before I was not affected by that because I was using pidgin... and now with wlm, I have this annoying thing.

    Any help is welcome.
