Investigating Bit Defender For My Office
I have a small office, under 10 workstations. In order to make the office workstations run at an optimal efficeincy rate I have to contnuously change computers for the staff members. Each time I get a new machine the compouters get moved through the office, blah blah blah!
I was previously using symantec and subscriptions for antivirus protection. However, they have a limit on the number times the product can be loaded on to a workstation. I might reload a OS on a computer 3 times a year. Is there a limit with BitDefender?
Thanks,

Hi, I just want to add my 2bits to this note. Friday (aug 31, 2007), we changed from Norton to Bit Defender Total Security 2008 and the experience has been -and continues to be- terrible. We have had many problems with the installation and I can understand that since removal of Norton seems to leave some tracks that Bit Defender doesn't like. The absolute worst part of the experience is that the support service from Bit Defender has been dismal. I was desperatly trying to speak to a live person. Well you can't do this from Canada. So i used Live Assistance. The first person i chatted with suggested many very time consuming and useless operations. Five hours later, I tried phone numbers listed on Site. I got transfered from one place to another until finally someone said 'sorry can't help you' and that was that. So back on Live Assistance. There the person whom I dealt with said she would send a Diagnostic tool right away by email. I was to run it and send back results so that the situation could be assessed and I had hoped my problems fixed. Well that was yesterday morning and guess what: NO EMAIL, No contact.
I don't know if i was unlucky but needless to say right about now, it is very tempting to cancel BitDefender and get back to Norton anti-virus.0 -
Hello odette
I do not work for Softwin (BitDefender). I am only a volunteer.
I can understand you reaction.
I recommend that you follow my instructions. Take a look at this topic and download the norton removal tool and follow my other suggestions. I also recommend that you download this uninstaller let it run reboot your pc. Afterwards install total security again. Leftovers of previous anti-viruses could cause serious problems.

Thank you Howser and Niels for your advice. I guess i am getting very frustrated with having to repeat my story to several customer rep. and nothing gets addressed. It is a lot of time spent on this that i should be using to work on my 'real' projects.
Niels, thank you for your suggestion. Yesterday, I run the Norton anti-virus removal. It solved the problem of the computer not shutting down. But I am still having problems connecting the 4 computers.

Hello Odette
The connection problem is a bug. With seems only to occur know with nvidia motherboards and integrated network cards.
You can try the suggestions I gave in this topic. Softwin (BitDefender) is aware of this problem and will fix it soon. But I can't say when exactly but the bugs will be fixed with the update procedure.
