so will the update for bitdefender work on my shield deluxe since it works on the engine.


Is there a patch created for the 2009 version?


if there is can you please send me a link because i won't update it and i turned off the automatic update until the problem is fixed

    I also have the Shield 2009 and like you, got the Trojan.fakealert.5 virus.


    I downloaded the patch given on this site, and when I try to update the software, it gives me this error:


    "An error occurred during the update (HTTP error 404)


    The Product will automatically retry to contact the update server. If the problem persists, please check our online support webpage at http://www.pcsecurityshield.com. The contact information provided on this site allows you o directly reach The Shield Deluxe 2009 customer care team for further information."


    But the thing is, this isn't a Shield issue, this is a BitDefender problem and I would like to know what to do.


    So, please give us some help

    On this forum we provide support only for BitDefender products.


    Although The Shield Delux uses BitDefender engines all support is provided by PCSecurityShield on their official website.
