Bitdefender And Thunderbird

WinXP BitDefender 2010 Thunderbird

Since installng BitDefender when I download my thunderbird emails it stops part way thru. With the msg server has timed out.

I have to reset the router also makes another computer in the LAN go off line)and go back into Thunderbird to continue.

Anyone have this problem ?

Hello sswcharlie,

Please open BitDefender -> go to Settings from the top right corner -> Switch UI to Expert Mode. Go to the Firewall module -> Network tab -> select the Local / Wireless Area Connection and set the:

• Trust Level to Trusted local
  
• Stealth Mode to Remote
  
• Generic to Yes
  

Select the Local /Wireless Area Connection from the Zones part-> click on the + sign -> add the IP address for your router -> choose Allow in the Action filed -> click OK.

If the issue persists after changing these settings please go back to the Firewall module -> Rules tab -> click on Advanced button. Search the rule for Mozilla Thunderbird and move it to the top of the list by clicking on the up arrow from the top right corner.
