Bdis 2010 Not Compatible With Windows 7!

Hi all, "This BitDefender product is not compatible with you operating system. . . ." I use Windows 7 Home Basic. It states I need either XP SP2 / Vista or Windows 7. I have Windows 7!

As you can see BDIS does NOT work with W7 yet (for anyone who wanted to know) I'm not certain if a newer version have been release that is compatible with W7 yet as BD don't specify the version number on the download page so one may know what version exactly you are downloading.

Hello Jennifer,

You may receive that error message if you downloaded the wrong version.

More exactly,Windows XP,Vista and 7 are split in 2: 32 bit and 64 bit.

You first need to find you if you have a 32 bit or a 64 bit system by going in Control Panel under System.

Afterward download the proper version for your system and install it:

32 bit:

http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/de...ty_2010_32b.exe

64 bit:

http://download.bitdefender.com/windows/de...ty_2010_64b.exe

Hi Christi,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have the 64bit W7, I thought the BDIS 2010 installation files supported both 32 and 64bit. Wrong assumption I suppose. Will download the 64bit version of BDIS and see if it works which I suspect should.
