System Restore Failed Under Win 7 X64

Hi everybody

Does anyone noticed system restore can't be done under bitdefender total security 2010 ??

Whatever I tried , I get the same message saying the restore couldn't be applied because of some anti virus bla blah

It seems too BD can't be disabled at all and still lock system files at reboot .

When I start restore system after deinstalling BD everything works fine

  • Hi Michel,

Can you please tell me what Operating System are you using ?

  • Hi

    I'm under win 7 64 bits

  • Hello Michel,

Please try to make the system restore in Windows Safe Mode and let me know if the issue issue occur. Also please try to reproduce the steps you take, what error / notification message you receive and a screenshot of it if possible.

Keep in mind that it's best to use the Windows Restore Mode in Safe Mode as having a security solution installed on the PC may prevent it from being restore correctly because of the different modules protecting your computer.

    Looking forward to your answer!

    Regards,

  • Also have Wion 7 64 bit and same conflicting issue - System Restore won't complete with Bit Def Internet Sec 2012 running.

booting to Safe mode to run a System Restore is not an option for me. Need a better solution.

In meantime, I uninstalled the program and now running M/S Windows Defender.

  • Hi :)

I think I have a solution for your case.

As the new Bitdefender 2013 product suite was released, we would like to inform you that you benefit from a FREE upgrade to the latest version.

Apart from the fact that the 2013 suite brings lots of new features and improvements, it will most likely solve any issues that you may have encountered with your previous Bitdefender product.

    Hi Christian,

Is there any assurance after installing any 2013 version of Bitdefender will solve the problem (unsuccessful system restore)?

I really love the way bitdefender works on my PC and only that's the only problem I encountered.

    Thanks,

    :)

  • Hello :)

The product should not block that process. There are cases that involve infected files that are backed up and then the product could block the operation.

Please install the new version and provide your feedback over here:

Same problem exists in 2013 for me. I have added a new forum entry at http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=38835
