Vsserv.exe Problems

I have 2 Windows XP computers that i have upgraded from BD Internet Security 2009 to BD Internet Security 2010 using the proper method of removal & installation & am still experiencing issues with VSSERV.EXE using 90-100% of my CPU. On the other hand i also have a desktop computer running Vista Home Premium 64-bit & have no issues with BD Internet Security 2010 64 bit version...is this the answer.

Please, please, please help my XP machines.

P.S. Also had to turn off the DB firewall so i could printer & file share on my home network & also with a notebook that is not running BitDefender software.

<img class= " /> It's been 15 hours now & have had no response from BD. Don't know what's going on with this company but it's a shame, they used to have a great product. Time to release & move on.

Vsserv.exe has recently started hogging the Hdd , this seems to happen after it updates,and finishes installing the updates, my hdd activity light is permanently lit for minutes after,it doesn't do this every time after update seems random, but kill vsserv.exe and it stops straight away,this should be fixed as it possibly could cause damage to the hdd

try turning off Windows indexing in services.msc Also turn off anything called pre fetch or super fetch been having this trouble on an AP/W7 dual boot system and turning off search indexing was the only thing that took care of this

I have experienced this same problem for some time now. In fact vsserv.exe is at the top of my task list and my hard drive is grinding and grinding away as I write this. Anyway, How do you kill vsserv.exe? If I try to end the process I get an access denied error.

you first have to disable the self protect driver from within windows device manager and restart, then you will be able to start/stop all related processes, but so could some malware, was the reason that i suggested they include a catchpa system instead of the current way of having to do this to control bd

My vsserv.exe also uses 90+% of my cpu frequently. I've been using bit defender total security for many months but this past few weeks my cpu seems to be hanging frequently. It almost as always happens when im streaming a video or opening websites with videos in it. I'd appreciate if you help me please. Thanks in advance.
