Start Menu Scanning

I want to know that how can i disable the scanning of start menu. I have added .lnk into the exclusion list but it still scans my Program Files folder when I move my mouse over to start menu in XP. It is slowing down my start menu a little bit. I have also added the path but dosent work. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

Hi Saud Iqbal,

You also have to add to the exclusion list the path C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu. You excluded the Universal StartMenu, but users also have an independent StartMenu, personalized for everyone of them.

I also did that. still bd is scanning the exe files linked with the start menu.
