Can Not Register

I had the need to remove Bitdefender 2009 because the tray icon kept going black. It go back to red if I ran the program and ask to scan a short file. This went on for way too long.


Now I still have 99 days on my registration . But I can not update nor autoload the program and the REGISTER now is highlighted .


I am choosing:


Continue using current key.


click finish


The window closes and my Bitdefender will still request to register.


and will not update. Not even the servers URL are entered and all that section is grayed out.


Okey ... what am I doing wrong ?

    Hello Forcelledo,


    Have you tried upgrading to BitDefender 2011? If you have at least 1GB RAM and a Dual Core CPU it is highly recommended that you install the latest version as follows:


    1. Run the BitDefender uninstall tool


    Reboot when prompted.


    2. Install BitDefender 2011 from here.


    Note: The installer will automatically detect for which product your license key is.

    Well, 2 things , economy is tight, and this was working perfectly till the last update and I do not have a dual core PC. so I would like to get this working with 2009 (as it was) . Perhaps in 99 days I'll be in a different situation , but I am not planning on buying any dual core.


    And yes I DID use the uninstall tool to remove all of bitdefender , and still had about 20 registry entries left


    Thank you for the help but I truly expected full support until the end of my license agreement.

    Upgrading was only the most convenient solution, however we do offer support on all versions of BitDefender. Problems are encountered when known issues are solved only in a later version - this is not the case here.
