Having Scanning Issues With Total Security

Options

Just in the past few days I've noticed my scan times getting shorter and shorter. I just rand a full scan and a deep scan and you can see the logs below. A full scan would take over an hour and the deep scan would usually take a little longer. Look at the scan logs on the logs below. Anyone know whats going on here? Why have the scans become drastically shorter?

I've watched a presentation of BitDefender 2010 in YouTube, according to which, BD has a list of trusted files (I don't believe they are files, but maybe vendors) that should be skipped from scanning. Is that technology still in BD 2011 and how does it work? Does it include hashes of files locally or in the cloud or does it include signatures (for example file is signed from Microsoft Corporation - it won't be scanned)?

  • Hi Boris,

Indeed the same technology is present and used into BitDefender 2011 products. All files previously scanned and found NOT changed by BitDefender scanning module (since the last scan) will be skipped.

    Regards,
