Parental Control Password

B.T.W. why is this topic closed :( , Sorry, this topic has been locked, so I have to make a new topic even if my problem is the same.

http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...arental+control

After upgrating to BD Internet Security 2011, and using Windows Vista Premium, 3 accounts where turned over to ON <img class=" />, Admin is OFF. On BD 2009 there was only my teens account that was ON, but now both my 2nd account and the wifes are putted down to Age limit 14  . OK some will say that we should be "flattered" <img class=" /> , but it gave us problems by blocking some websites and ALL attempts to change the status from 14 to 18+(diseable Parent Control) were in vain, getting every time this message (the same as many BD users got).

A password is required in order to finish this operation

It seems that this is "the problem of the year" as I have seen on the forum that there are "hundreds" of users suffering the same. Which password is required, coz both my password as Admin and the BD account passwords are not accepted.

Can my problem be because as YANN explained her :

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=20590

When updating/installing BD 2011, I was prompted to diseable Windows Firewall and Defender, but there were no mention of :

    Vérifiations avant installation :

Vérifiez tout d'abord qu'aucun autre logiciel de sécurité (antispywares comme Adaware ou Spybot, contrôle parental comme celui fourni dans la suite de Windows Live) ne soit installé sur le système. Si c'est le cas désinstallez les tous.

For non french readers: ("Verify that AntiSpyware-AdAware-Sbybot or Parental Control from Windows Life, are not installed on your system. If it is the case, U-install all" ), before installing BD 2011.

    Hello DanyDan or Nikki,

I got an @mail from support team suggesting me to go to : Registry editor:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\SetID and delete the value ID1 , and that should reset my Parental control .

But I couldn´t find any value saying ID1

And if I recall well, I didn't configure the parental control BDIS 2011 when upgrading from 2009 to BD2011, it seems that it have been cloned from my MS windows configuration.

My next question is: will my Admin password be deleted if I remove ID1 (if founded).

    Daniel ,

A quick answer will be appriciated (you usually write on topics that it will be within 48H) -_- , alternatively, please forward me to an another topic where the issue has been solved.

    Cordialement et amicalement(J-N-O) ;)

My problem is now "solved" . My desktop went "dead" : RIP :( . (Either the CPU or and most probably the MotherBoard), than now I don´t have to worry about the Parental Control configuration anymore -_- .
