No Network Device
Just got the BitDefender-Rescue-CD DEC2010 verion, it boot but will not perform update as there is no network device being detected. This happens on a DELL VOSTRO 230 computer with AMI BIOS and Broadcom 57xx NIC. Try the same CD on two old models; DELL Optiplex310 and Dimension 3100, both works fine, being able to detect the NIC and performs update.
I try the old RescueCD v2.0.0.5-10.2010. It works on the two older DELL models and it will hangs on Probing/loading AGP module on the Vostro 230 computer. The Dec2010 CD will load to a working screen, just no NIC/network.
Below are some screen errors;
Starting udev hot plug hw detection udev-event 2322 run-program/sbin/modprobe ABNORMAL EXIT
Autoconfigurating device- has a long green bar across
Warning: Autodetection seems to hang
Please check you computer BIOS settings
AGP bridge detected
....
Trying to mount other volume
Tyring to update Bitdefender-scanner- FAILS- check your network
Entering Level 5
apm disabled APM is not SMP mode
Executing/etc/int.d/xsession start: after session terminates, system will auto shutdown
Probing/loading AGP modules... (seem hangs forever here)
My question is; Is this related to the AMI BIOS setting ?
The other DELL Optiplex 320 and Dimension are not using AMI BIOS, it is either DELL's own BIOS or Phoenix BIOS.
Any idea to make it works?
Thank You.
