Vsserv.exe Taking 34% Of Cpu
Hi everyone,
I just migrated to BD 2011 AV because I was very happy with BD 2009. I finally got everything in order after submitting some tickets to their support team and getting help. Recently I discovered a new problem and did not want to wait the 48 hours for a response so I "Google-d" the issue and apparently this is a common problem with BD's software.
Anyone who can send me to a link or thread that details how to stop this issue WITHOUT renaming files (I do not want to mess with BD file nomenclature) I would be very appreciative!!
I have added a portion of a screen-shot showing CPU status from my task manager!
Thanks
John

Hi jrkahrhoff,
First I want to apologize for my delay in responding to your post. I noticed that you contacted us also via E-mail and one of my colleagues sent you a few replies. Can you follow the steps from his last e-mail and to reply him with the status of the issue you have, please ?
Thank you!0 -
Hello Mihaela!
Thanks for responding...yes, I did hear back from your technical support staff and this is another reason that I use BitDefender - your support tool is the only system that I know of that is incorporated into the software to produce these detailed zip files!
My situation was resolved with a simple setting change and (if my memory is correct) I simply unchecked the "Active Virus Control" feature in the EXPERT VIEW of my control panel!
Thanks again

Hello jrkahrhoff,
Thank you for providing us with this information. We have released a product update which should solve, among others, the issue you are encountering. You can find here more details about this update.
If you are using the English version of our product please try to update BitDefender and reboot the PC when the process is complete. In order to make sure that the update was applied right click on the BitDefender icon from the System tray, choose About and make sure the Build number is 14.0.28.351.
Then re-enable the Active Virus Control option from Expert View -> Antivirus module -> Advanced Settings and check if the issue reoccurs.
Thank you,
Carmen0
