Slippery Adware

Hi all.

I´ve been attacked by this adware few times and it has always been able to slip through my firewall and infect my computer. BD has detected it when I run scans but not the real-time shield. Does anyone have a clue why that is or/and if there is something I need to change in the settings to prevent this to happen again ?

The full name of the malware is; Adware.Gamespy.A

Hello Buddy

That is a program that is included with lots of games to play online on the gamespy servers instead of the servers of the developers of the or when the developers don't have their servers. It is being detected because of the display of advertisements.

So am I correct in understanding that it is NOT malware, and when detected it should be ignored ?

It's adware which means that it displays advertisements nothing more then that. It isn't a high threat. You can exclude it if you don't want to get informed about it.

BitDefender seems unable to remove this adware as it is set up on my pc. Also it only shows up on deep scans. Is this normal, and how can I remove it?
