Is This A Virus Infection?

I keep seeing BitDefender popup windows on the right of my screen stating..."Scanning outgoing mail[/b]".

This happens whether MS Outlook 2007 is running or not.

When Outlook is not running, I check the Task Manager and there is no Outlook process.

Many times, there are several of these windows appearing at once.. but mostly, 1 - 3 of them appear on screen as though they are scrolling up the screen.

I have conducted several BD deep scans with no detection of viral infection.

Is this a setup or configuration thing or am I infected somehow?

Can someone PLEASE advise.....

Thank you.

Andrew.

[i am using BitDefender Internet Security 2008; Windows XP Pro SP2]

Normally after a few seconds the BitDefender scanning outgoing mail must disappear. If it's a white popup with BitDefender then it's related to BitDefender. You can disable pop-up's the only problem is that you will not receive pop-up's for every program part. If you want to do that double click on the red BitDefender icon press on settings, advanced and uncheck display pop-up's and press on ok. But that isn't normal behaviour I suggest that you perform a repair installation but first disable the realtime protection you can do this by going to the antivirus section and uncheck realtime protection and choose 15 minutes now right click on the red BitDefender icon and choose exit. Now put in the installation cd-rom or run the installer and choose for modify/repair.

    Best regards
