Real Time Protection Is Disabled!

I have the original Bit defender Total Security 2011 licensed edition. Whenever i see the dashboard there would be two issues pending:

1. Real time protection is disabled

2. Automatic updates is disabled

when i go to the preferences menu these two would be off. When i switch it to on and click apply and then ok still those warnings dont go .

When i go again to the preferences menu and check it would be off again!!!! i tried repairing the software by using the repair or remove wizard >>>>it still doesn't work. I have windows xp sp2>>>>>pls help!!!!!!!!!

First and foremost, before we start troubleshooting the issue, make sure that you upgrade your Windows XP to Service Pack 3 as explained in the Microsoft article below:

When you installed the Service Pack, restart the PC then follow the steps explained in THIS article then send me a PM with the generated log file along with a detailed description of the issue you encounter and the link to this topic.
