Home Network Does'nt Find Other Pc With Ubuntu/mint.

I need some help with this matter of networking all three pc's,two of which have Bit Def. on them.

Don't get the chance to combine them on one patch to manage'em from.It finds the second Win7 but not the third Win7. All three machines dual & triple boot.

I've yet to manage adding them, let alone the Linux os.

I know that Bit Def. supports Linux ,so it should'nt be impossible.

Or is it only if ICS is set up? .. Which in this case I have'nt started with that although it is the goal to have all three machines sharing the printer & possibly files too ,oh plus a smart phone.

Where to start ? .. Samba?..

cheers

  • Hello,

The Home Network module only works with Internet Connection Sharing enabled therefore you won't be able to add the Unix machine to the network. I find your proposal really interesting and worthy of discussing it further. I'll have a talk with my colleagues on the Unix team and let you know as soon as we will have a possible resolution or a workaround on it.
