I have another problem (Bitdefender v10), aside from the problems as described in my other post:

A window pops up, the window title says "bdmon" and the message reads "A required resource was" and that's it, you can only click OK and after that Bitdefender says due to an error it needs to shut down ...etc..

Any help is appreciated!

PS: I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2 on a Intel Core duo 1.8GHz 2GB RAM machine. Tha above problem has occured before and after I have uninstalled the old and reinstalled the latest NVIDIA graphics/display driver (GeForce 7300) as well as completely uninstalled Bitdefender using the uninstall tool and reinstalled it.

Also i have this problem. This occour, FOR ME, when emule and outlook are open. wHY??

I suggest that both of your try this : go to start,run,at the run dialog box type eventvwr and press enter. Now doubleclick on applications and look after an error message on the time the error message occured. Then doubleclick on it. And copy the entire error message. Bdmon is not a part of BitDefender only bdmcon is a part of the antivirus. How many running processes do you both have in taskmanagement? (control+alt+del(ete) then click on the processes tab. You can also try to restart the service by doing this go to : start,run, at the run dialog box type services.msc press enter now leftclick on the BitDefender Virus shield service and choose for start or restart. Do that also for other services that has BitDefender in the name if they are stopped.

I have de same problem. I made what is described and still to occur de problem!

I thought the problem was about P2P, because te error occurs frequently when my torrent client is running. But i made a test: i turn on the pc and i left it on, and passed some minutes de error occur.

Attached are screenshots (in Word-Document) of the Bitdefender bdmcon error messages (I thought it was "bdmon" but maybe it was an oversight previously) and the strange Bitdefender window behavior. I'm convinced bdmcon is part of Bitdefender, the name gives it away plus I get this kind of error only when BD is running. I am very frustrated at this point, I get these errors and crashes everyday and have to restart BD constantly. At this point I doubt that Bitdefender is protecting me properly as it keeps crashing. What is my next option if I can't resolve this in this forum? Will BD customer support refund my money if it turns out this software isn't running with my Hardware/Software config?

Note, that I am running Peerguardian2 software also in the backround, as well as P2P software.

I see that you have 50 running processes that is too much. Try to reduce the amount of start up items by going to start,run,at the run dialog box type msconfig press enter go to start up, and enter the names of the processes you find under item for start up on this website : http://www.castlecops.com/StartupList.html

If you see a N or X you may uncheck that item and press on apply and ok. Take also a look : start,all programs,start up and in the registry type regedit in the run dialog box press enter. Open the follow key hkey_local_machine and follow folders: software,microsoft,windows,currentversion,run. There you will see ab icons that are also start up items enter them also to that website and delete them if you don't want that they start up. It could be that there aren't any resources available for running all BitDefender parts. What p2p program are you using? Did you have that issue in the beginning? What software did you installed recently? Try to uninstall that software and see if the problem is solved or not?

You can also try this put in the installation disc of BitDefender disable BitDefender temporary. Then press on repair.

Thanks for your quick response! I have just recently switched to a brand new computer and with that switched from Norton Internet Security to Bitdefender. My problem existed from the start, right after I installed BD, I can not pin point to any software that I recently installed that caused this, as I basically installed all software from scratch within a few days, including BD. With Norton, I never had any problems running these processes and the the exact same software that is installed on my machine now. I've already killed some unnecessary startup processes using MagicTweak, and I can't accept the fact that I have to limit myself even more if I want BD to run properly, but thanks for the advice. Sounds like I may have to switch back to Norton, it is evidently more flexible. PS: My P2P software is emule.

When I had Norton my computer was very slow. But that was with an older version of their internet security. What else did you change with MagicTweak you must be very carefull with tweaking software. What solution of BitDefender are you using now? BitDefender Antivirus,BitDefender Antivirus Plus or BitDefender Internet security. Did the problem occured when you installed BitDefender?

Normally there aren't any conflicts with p2p software.

Hi!!

In my case i found what are provoking the BitDefender crash. I don't why, but 2 files of my webcam drivers who are running at the beginning are the guilt of this. I just uncheck these files in msconfig and BD is running perfectly.

These files are:

domino.exe (c:\WINDOWS\domino.exe)

ZSSnp211.exe (c:\WINDOWS\zssnp211.exe)

The WebCam is a "USB PC CAMERA ZS0211"

The only thing i had in common with those guys PC"s is that i have Windows XP and with a few of them the fact that i have NVidia!(Could it be a conflict with the latest updates of Windows?)

Thanks for the suggestion:conflict with my nvidia drivers".Still i have the original drivers from Nvidia and i have them on my PC for a while now(not that much 2 months).I have to hand it to you this might be the problem cause the only time this bdmcon error appears is when i use heavily my nvidia video bord(when i play games).The strange thing is that this error is recent and it doesn't appear when i play all my games but only i play some of them.Regardless i'm not going uninstall original drivers and install some i don't trust just for a mallfunctining antivirus.Screw the antivirus! <img class= " />

If you take a look on the internet you will find lots of topics with people that have serious problems with the latest nvidia drivers. I gave only the link so you could verify that it then worked. So you could come to the conclusion that it was related to the original drivers. So it isn't really Softwin fault.

OK people, chill down.

Maybe all applications/drivers enumerated in this thread are to blame, or maybe none of them.

One thing's for sure: there are at least 2 suspects:

1) nVidia drivers

2) emule

You all can be sure BitDefender analysts will verify both of these and they WILL find the cause (and a solution) sooner or later. Maybe it's Softwin's fault, maybe not. That will not be known until the real cause of this problem is found and eliminated. PERIOD.

i'm a little cooler now ,i won't curse.

My response is still the same:i shall not uninstall originall drivers for an original nvidia product just cause my antivirus can't deal with a modern video bord!

Untill the problem will be fixed i'll use BD 9.This is not a certain solution eigther though.This version might have conflicts with the 'evil'(buhuhu)nvidia drivers ###### well.

The problem occurs not only with nvidia drivers. I thought that but it affected also some range of graphics cards of other vendors. When I posted that no other people had the same problem only those with nvidia graphics card. Nvidia has lots of driver problems. I don't invent it.

I don't think it matters which version of emule you're running, I am using an old version 0.44c and BD crashes while emule is running in the background (I think it happens everytime a download comes in).

I'm very hesitant to install an unofficial NVIDIA graphic card driver. I shouldn't have to resort to that. I'd rather switch to a firewall/antivirus software that works using official graphic card drivers!

Error occurs while p2p downloads are in progress running Neomule 4.25

No change to system, problem occured first after 29th March update of Bitdefender 10 Antivirus Plus. Even with update of 10th April und Active Sync patch of 26th April problem persists.

Completely deinstalled DB and resinstalled.

Contacted Live Support. Problem is not known there, "Georgia" promissed to email me instructions for further investigations of the problem. But no Email yet.

Where can I use the option Neomule 4.25 in emule? Because I don't receive any crashes when I download something nor with a few other p2p I kept running in the background for testing if the message appears. But everything works well.

Neomule is a so called "mod" of the standard emule. Its a modificated version with enhanced features.

The problem does not relate to this special version, it occors with heavy load bittorrent as well.

With the normal emule I don't have any problems. I tested it also with utorrent and I also don't received the same error message. Which operating system are you using? I let both programs runned in the background without any problems. Modificated version causes conflicts more easily then the original software.

Try another version of Neomule. If you still get the same error message then it's indeed BitDefender related.

I have the same problem. It has to be a BitDefender problem, when running together with emule. I have emule version 47c. If I exit Emule and then restart the BitDefender, the error doesn't appear anymore. However, the error does't appear right after I'm starting emule, it takes a time until the first error box appears. I think that the error appear first when BitDefender tries to run updates. Maybe a port problem?

As soon as we will know what causes this (apparently this is not BitDefender's fault entirely) I will let you know or even receive an email from support (the ones that have reported this to support). There is no need to get angry an create a fuss on this forum. I don't see anyone else to create such a scandal here. I'm sorry that you have that problem, but we're doing our best to resolve this issue.

I am also having this problem and have had NO help from BD live assistance - I keep sending the files and screen prints but to no avail...

Happens everyday - I have even uninstalled and reinstalled BD. I use Limewire intermittently - maybe its related to P2P - also seems to happen when running iTUnes....do not have nvidia graphics card.

dude i have a short time solution for ya:get BD antivirus Proffesional Plus vs 9,it's pretty decent and it will do untill softwin solves this programms conflicts of BD Antivirus vs10,or maybe the new bd vs 11 won't have this problems(i'ved heard it's gona be realised in a few months)
