Hidden Files And Folders

Options

Does anyone know how to stop Antivirus 2011 from hiding my hidden files and folders everytime it finds a virus. I then have to reboot to go change the setting again on my XP system so I can view hidden folders. I have looked around in Bitdefender itself but I think it has to be something stupid like a registry entry.

Thanks

Steve

Verify the "checked value" and "default value".

    Hello Steve,

First of all I would like to welcome you on our forums!

I do believe that the issue you encounter is not caused by BitDefender. I would rather think that the behavior you mention is due to a possible infection. Please run a deep system scan and post the scan log here. Do you have any resolved items ?

[how to GENERATE A DEEP SYSTEM SCAN LOG]

    - Before running the scan please make sure that you have the latest virus definitions downloaded via the Update module: open BitDefender and click the "Options" button in the upper right side of the interface; Select Expert view and go to the Update menu.

    - After the update process completes successfully you can proceed to running the scan task: go to the Antivirus menu and under the Virus scan tab.

Right click on Deep system scan and select Scan now.

    - When the scan ends, click the "View Log" button at the bottom right of the scan window; A browser window will open displaying the scan report; Save this file on a location of your choice and then send it to us.

To send the file please upload it HERE or HERE.

    Looking forward to your answer!
