Bitdefender Total Security 2011

Options

Hello bitdefender,

I'm trying very hard to be nice about this even know I spent so much money for just one year of your software. This software WILL NOT allow me to be protected FULLY 'for some odd reason'...

I would like the software to allow me to use it and not block me for no good reason.

I have no picture that describes the issue I'm having its very, very hard to handle right now.

Being.

1) I did everything.

2) Nothing worked.

  • Welcome to the forum. :)

    First of all, you did not provide us with even the most basic information about your PC and it's configuration as described in the forum posting rules so it will be very difficult to assist you.

    Which Windows OS - from your screen shot, it looks like WinXP? Which Service Packs?

    32-bit or 64-bit?

    How much memory (RAM) is in your PC?

    What type & speed processor (CPU)?

    Do you have any other security programs installed?

    Did you have another security program installed but have uninstalled it? If so, what method did you use to uninstall it?

    Is this a new installation if BD? How long has it been installed? Is this a new problem that just showed up?

    Regards,

    Real Time Protection Disabled (WINDOWS XP >Says I have NO Anti-Virus)

    So it should be. Will it be otherwise then it will not be full disabled and the driver still loaded.

    I have test this by some other AV's where windows xp and 7 after disable realtime protection + firewall did not alert about missing AV and no firewall installed, guess why, it doesn't go to disable full at all by some AV/Security suites.

    Bitdefender is a way a head as many other AV's. Produce or collect some false positives and you will see by self that Bitdefender is one of the best out there.

    To do that go and collect seldom used exe packer, pack a few files, scan them with different AV's and see how many show suddenly Virus alert. A few of the other AV's even do not allow with a few clicks to exclude them but require to go in the config first.

    BitDefender is an outstanding AV.

    Hello,

    Theotherguy87: A lot of useless information about your system posted. We were more interested in knowing the basics info about your PC: RAM, processor, architecture.

    I understand your frustration however I can't provide you with an answer without seeing a log file or take a look on your PC configuration and the list of installed programs and drivers.

    One thing caught my attention from the endless list you posted: the Windows Firewall is Enabled even tho' should be disabled considering that you are using BitDefender Total Security 2011.

    Furthermore please tell me what exactly you tried when you mentioned:

    1) I did everything.

    2) Nothing worked.

    - what were the steps you took ?

    - what exactly didn't worked ?

    From the info you provided I can think of few possible causes for the issue you encounter:

    1. a previous version of BitDefender not correctly uninstalled (BitDefender 2010 and older);

    2. A BitDefender reinstall not properly performed;

    3. Another security solution with a Real Time Protection module still present in the PC or not properly uninstalled;

    4. A faulty installation of BitDefender caused by either using the "Run" command when saving the installation kit and/or trying to install BitDefender without Administrator rights (for Windows Vista/Windows 7 it's strongly recommended to use the option "Run as Administrator" when trying to install a software that needs administrator rights to be properly installed).

    Follow the steps explained in THIS article then send me a PM with the generated log file along with a detailed description of the issue you encounter and the link to this topic.

    Looking forward to your answer!

    Zxw: Thank you for your kind words :)

    Kind regards,
