    Hi,

    Vander: Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try and test it.

    Wael: can post few details about your PC and the Operating System? Any other security solutions installed on the same PC? Does Firefox hangs even if you don't open any websites? Does it hang whenever you visit a certain website? Please follow the steps explained in the article below and send me via PM the generated log file:

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=119338

    manos: where do you get that notification? In a certain page or in all? Can't reproduce it. What Firefox version are you using?

    Hi,

    manos: where do you get that notification? In a certain page or in all? Can't reproduce it. What Firefox version are you using?

    Happens on all pages but doesn't show all the time like that - looks like it is trying to load the graphic interface and something interrupts it.

    Still whatever I do the bar shows up no matter how many times I remove it through the settings page. :(

    My Firefox version is 6.0.2 (this morning though it updated to 7.0.1)

  • I cannot understand you people.Don;t need to be an expert to know that it is not a user issue BUT a major program problem.I read dozens blogs posts about the same problem.Slow down internet connection,browsers problem etc..This is not our fault, and it is fanny that some "experts" here tries to reason their own lack of abilities to cover this problem.

    Come on guys give a try to google and you will find that many other users has the same problem.I make the mistake to buy the program ( bd security suite 2012) and my internet connection ruined,my opera browser cannot display their browser plugin, and various sites with flash/java dont even appear!

    Do not mocking the bd users!FIX the problem IF you can!Or else give the refound!!

    If you want i can give you many many blogs with users who has the same problem!The same!I am tired of lame excuses!!

    Any idea when this fix is going to come?

    It has been promised to everyone twice now, once three weeks ago and then again definite release last week.

    However the weeks gone by again and all is quiet!!!

    Please keep us informed as it does not look like it is an easy fix.

    Meanwhile more and more users are reporting these issues so it has to be top of your priority list I assume?

    Please keep us informed on progress and ETA as this lack of communication is testing our patience and is frankly getting ridiculous.

    I was also experiencing this problem and have come up with a temporary fix.

    1. Restart your computer and press F8 to boot into safe mode.

    2. Open C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\BitDefender 2012\settings\core.http.xml with notepad.

    3. Change change the following values to off, so it looks like this:

    <proxy>

    <scanrequest>off</scanrequest>

    <scanresponse>on</scanresponse>

    <passthrough>off</passthrough>

    </proxy>

    <category name="browsers">

    <rules>

    <request>

    <content>off</content>

    <scanner>on</scanner>

    </request>

    4. Click save after you've edited the file.

    5. Right click on core.http.xml and select properties then check the box that says Read Only, press apply. (This may or may not prevent BitDefender from changing the settings on you.)

    6. Reboot normally, and enjoy lag free browsing :)

    Thanks for offering a workaround.

    however, what are were exactly disabling by doing this?

    let's not forget the whole propose of this program is to keep virusses etc. actively from our computers.

    I would love to know from one of the bitdefender tech support if by doing this I'm not disabling a vital function of the program.

    If it works however, very well done for finding it and thanks for posting it here.

    would still prefer official update from bitdefender on the status of this problem and how far they are along with providing us with a fix.

    You're welcome.

    Basically, you are disabling the scanning of the browser request. The work around does work as I've been using it for awhile. To my knowledge it doesn't effect the detection of viruses and malicious websites, as I've tested it with the Eicar test file/test pages. Yes, an official update would be ideal. This is just a work around until the official update is released.

    Once the update is released all you have to do is; boot into safe mode again, navigate to the core.http.xml file, right click on it, select properties, uncheck "Read Only" and press apply. After that Bitdefender will be able to reset the settings to default.

    Can you please confirm that Hax`s idea to fix the problem temporary is a safe way.

    iam not doing it specially it comes from a guy called hax, and settings need to be modified in safe mode.

    Even tho a temporary solution is not acceptable.

  • Hello,

    Wael: you have a secondary security solution installed which can be the cause of the issue you encounter. Read the article below and uninstall Windows Family Safety:

    http://explore.live.com/windows-live-famil...e-uninstall-faq

    Also you are using another firewall (Microsoft Firewall Client 2004) on the same PC:

    1    FwcMgmt.exe    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Firewall Client 2004\FwcMgmt.exe

    Hax: Thanks for the workaround, however, the original issue was resolved by disabling AVC. Do you have it enabled and the issue is still resolved if you edit the XML file? Please send me the answer via PM as I need this feedback as soon as possible.

    tpl12blk: Remove the link from your signature as it's against the forum rules. Warned +20%.

    I have asked for an ETA and more info on this issue from the Dev. Team. I will post the answer, next week, as soon as I will have it.

    Removed both, still the same issue happening.

    Firefox lagging( or you can call it flashplayer lagging, got several crashes screen from flash player)

    Internet connection Very Slow

    PC Startup Very Slow

    MSN Msgr taking around +30 seconds to load the contacts and if you click anything meanwhile on the msgr it stop responding for a while.

    BD Should put a priority on this issue as alot of customers has this issues and alot more who doesnt know how to reach this forums, dont forget that AVC still turned off,

    for my self i need this to be solved before i think to buy the license.

    Please do your best

  • Please let me know, for how long i should wait until you solve these issues, its getting more annoying, specially the firefox lag, sometimes it last for more than a minute

    What's the worst that could happen? You can always change the settings back. It's just a random name I picked, I don't have any nefarious motives, so you can take off your tin foil hat. The settings have to be modified in safe mode because BitDefender does not allow you to modify files while it's running.

    You're welcome. I've tried disabling AVC and I still experienced the lag. I currently have AVC enabled, with the core.http.xml settings I specified in my previous post, and have no issues watching youtube videos or loading websites.

    Hello,

    This is what is happening when people are posting different issues on the same topic.

    To clear things out:

    - there are two issues:

    a ) slowdown caused by AVC when browsing Flash based websites;

    b ) slowdown caused by TrafficLight when browsing flash based websites;

    The first issue should be resolved as we have released a fix for it on September 29th. For those of you encountering the first issue and resolving it by disable the AVC option please post the version for the file avcuf.dll located in your PC at:

    C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender 2012\Active Virus Control

    b ) this issue was caused by TrafficLight module however only reproduced on few isolated PC. For this issue I would like to ask you to create a new topic since this topic is NOT related.

    hax: your issue is issue b ) - I have a fix for it however I will need to test it. Would you give me a hand with it and allow me to test the new TrafficLight version on your PC since I can't reproduce the issue 100%? Send me a PM with your decision and a phone number where we can reach you.

    I won't be home this weekend. I'll be glad to help test it though. I'll send you a PM when I return, either sunday or monday.

    If you feel slow browsing specially on google search and other google sites... this is the only suitable solution i found so far and strongly recommend it to everyone.

    I've found what was causing my problem, it was a conflict between BitDefender and Internet Download Manager. To solve the problem; I unchecked "Use Advanced Browser Integration" in Internet Download Manager's options, and changed BitDefender's core.http.xml file back to default. Everything seems to be working fine now.

    hax: what is the version for the file: httpvs10u.dll from the Bitdefender installation folder? Also post the Bitdefender build. Last but not least, I am still waiting for the remote session from you, kindly send them to me via PM.

    httpvs10u.dll is version 1.5.0.23, and the build is 15.0.31.1282. I'll send a PM but everything is working fine since I changed the settings in IDM.

    Yes, you're genius. I've tried to change the settings in IDM and the browser works perfectly as expected. the problem is the conflict of BIT and IDM. I think that bitdefender should now start to fix this bug.
