OS: Win7 Prof SP1 64 bit

Fresh OS install. No other AV program

  • Lowered UAC to zero
  • unblocked install.exe
  • Ran install.exe as Admin
  • Ran uninstall program and rebooted after each failed attempt.

it gets to 71% of install and fails "Fatal error during installation"

Sent PM to DanyDan with sysdump file.

    Hi,

I am still awaiting the response to the the logs I sent the support team. I will update as soon as I hear back from BD. Its a bit frustrating as I purchased the product based on all the reviews without trying it out first. And now, so far, I am out $24.00 and my computer is not protected. I did a fresh install of Win7 64bit. I never dreamed there would be an issue with a fresh install. Oh well live and learn.

    Hello,

Darrin Simons: please tell me what installation kit you used. Full file name, location and size please. Have you used the option "Run/Open" when downloading the installation kit ?

IMPORTANT: you haven't check the System requirements: You are using Windows 7 without the Service Pack installed.

    Minimal system requirements:

Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP SP3 (32 bit) , Vista (SP2), Microsoft Windows 7 (SP1)

    http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/total...%20Requirements

None of the BitDefender drivers were installed correctly, some of them missing entirely, some being partially added to registry:

    ├+BDESVC
    ├-bdselfpr
    │└    start    REG_DWORD    0x00000004 (4)
    ├+Beep

I also noticed a suspicious driver on your PC C:\Windows\gdrv.sys so I will need an additional log to be sure that your PC is not infected. I've sent you the instructions via email on how to generate the log I need.
