Please read the Forum Rules before posting, specifically, General Rule #6. Before assisting you, we need basic information about your PC's hardware/software configuration.

    - Which Windows OS is installed - WinXP, Vista or Win7?

    - What Windows Service Pack (SP) is installed - SP1, SP2, SP3, etc.?

    - What is the architecture of the Windows OS - 32-bit or 64-bit?

    - Which BD product do you have - Antivirus, Internet Security or Total Security?

    - Do you have any other security program(s) currently installed on your PC?

    - Did you uninstall any other security program(s) prior to installing or attempting to install BD?

    - If the answer to question 6 is YES, what method did you use to uninstall each - the program's Windows Start Menu 'Uninstall' function, Windows Add/Remove Program function, the company's standalone downloaded uninstall tool or a third party uninstaller such as Revo Uninstaller?

  • Oh, sorry about that, to the best of my knowledge it is this....

    Win7 32-bit

    Total Security 2012

No other anti virus installed (previously had BD2010 or 2011 but that was removed during installation attempts)

    2GB RAM

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.4ghz

Thanks for the additional info. Please verify that you have Service Pack 1 installed for Win7 (Start-->right-click on Computer-->select Properties).

Sometimes leftover files/folders/registry keys from the previous installation of BD or a failed installation can cause a problem like this and BDTS 2012 may not have installed correctly and will also need to be uninstalled and re-installed.

To uninstall BD, download the Uninstall Tool from HERE to your PC and right-click on the file and select Run As Administrator. Reboot the PC after running the uninstall tool.

Finally, download a fresh copy of BDTS 2012 32-bit (English language version) from HERE to your PC and right-click on the file and select Run As Administrator. Follow the on-screen instructions and reboot the PC when complete.

Open the BD dashboard and perform an Update Now from the main window to download & install the latest program & virus definition files. Reboot the PC, if prompted to do so.

    Post back with your results.
