Bitdefender Vs Norton

Options

Hi All,

Am new to all this. Recently, i run Norton AntiVirus on my network computer, which is also installed with Bitdefender. However, Norton actually flagged out this 2 files.

c:\program files\softwin\bitdefender8\regspy.sys

c:\program files\common files\softwin\setup information\{545D62D2-E761-4BF-81C5-0E3B3D675734}\bdstandard.msi

Do hope you guys can advise me if these files are safe.. and is there any reference to any source that these files are not threats to the network computers.

Thank you so much!

  • Welcome to the site. :)

Are you saying that you have both Norton & BD antivirus programs installed on your PC at the same time? It is never a good idea to have 2 security programs with real time protection installed at the same time. You need to pick one and uninstall the other.

You can upload the 2 files to VirusTotal and have them analyzed: http://www.virustotal.com/

    Hello

Those files are legit Bitdefender files from v8 offline kit.

Is just a False Positive from that producer.

A false positive occurs when the program mistakenly flags an innocent file as being infected.

    Thank you.
