I bought BD AV Plus 2012 about a month ago and i'm having problem with an irritating feature.
BDAV seems to add a piece of code to (almost) every page visited, which changes the appearance of some pages (search engines) and / or shows a tab on the upper edge of the browser screen.
For example, google search results are prefixed with a colored "traffic light" with a mouse over popup of a bitdefender safety rating.
The code is in two parts (i anonymized the UID part).
First, there's a piece in the HEAD section;
<link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' href='/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX/netdefender/hui/ndhui.css' />
<!--[if lt IE 8]><link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' href='/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX/netdefender/hui/ndhui_ie7.css' /><![endif]-->
... second, a piece in the BODY section
<****** type='text/javascript' language='javascript' src='/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX/netdefender/hui/ndhui.js?0=0&0=0&0=0'></******>
It would seem logical that this feature could be turned off by using the "Privacy Control" -> "Protection for web browsers" part in the main GUI. Unfortunately this has no effect for me.
The "feature" most likely hijacks and tampers web traffic, since nothing new is shown on the browsers' plugin lists. And yes, it affects all browsers.
The last thing i was expecting from an antivirus application are added popup notifications and page additions.
I have contacted BD support about this issue, but - after initial conversation and sending them system diagnostic dumps - have not heard from them since.
I attached screenshot crops of all the relevant situations. If someone has any info on the issue, i'd appreciate it.
Thanks for your time.
