The toolbar from Bitdefender 2012 is compatible with All versions of Firefox, and the one from Bitdefender 2011 will be soon.

Not quite sure about that! BitDefender toolbar (anti-phishing) on Firefox 8 & 9 is not working saying a certificate error and that warning is popping-out all the time. I managed to get past of it by following the procedure I posted above. It happened to me, I don't know if anybody else experienced it. By the way, I am using BitDefender Antivirus Plus 2012.
Maybe that procedure I used above will also work on BitDefender 2011 products.
