Firewall (paranoid Mode On) Keeps Asking Whether To Allow Web Access To Some Plugins

Since I turned the "paranoid" mode on in the firewall, I kept getting the same request for web access for some plugins.

One is c:\programmi\mozilla firefox\plugin-container.exe

The other case is c:\programmi\secondlifeviewer\splugin.exe

With the second plugin (the Second Life one) the firewall is particularly annoying, since its request keep popping up like crazy.

What's interesting, is that the firewall seems to be creating the same rule over and over (so far, a dozen times, with Second Life's plugin).

I don't know what to do to solve this.

Does it give you any option on the pop ups like what you want to do? You can probably mark it as safe,

There should be an option somewhere too to put those plugins in the trust list. By the way, the firefox plugin-containter is a plugin that will eat up a lot of your CPU utilization. I disabled it in my notebook.

Windows mediaplayer keeps on asking for innet access , same for my newsclient and my vpn connection, and some other programs. <img class= " />

Very annoying.

My previous bitdefender suite (2010) was more user friendly, only 1 time ''allow or block'' and that's it.

Hope thy solve this with an update.

Yep, with the Bitdefender 2011 you only had to create the rule once, the first time. I'm starting to regret the upgrade.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up about the firefox plugin-container: I've disabled it ;-)

But there doesn't seem to be a way to tell the Firewall that an executable (namely, the Second Life plugin) is safe, and therefore not to bother about it. There is such an option within the antivirus module, but it bears no effect on the firewall whatsoever.

Ok, it's official, I've had enough.

So, what I did was to uninstall the bloody 2012 Internet Security and reinstall the 2011 suite. Luckily, I keep almost every file I download, so I still had the 2011 installer.

Heck, I even like the interface waaaay better than the 2012 one!

In Paranoid mode, the firewall does not create and does not remember the actions for those processes that want to connect to the internet.

This module was designed to ask the user each time a program need to connect to the internet via a certain port or protocol.

If you want the product to remember the rules, you need to turn the Paranoid mode off.

That's very very annoying, then why is there a paranoid mode, if it does not create any rules at all??

Just remove the auto pilot from the suite and give the customer full controle over the software, just like it was before.

Maby less unnecessary features would be a +, then they have more time to fine tune the essential modules ( anitspam, anivirus/malware and firewall. (that's what it's al about)

For example take safego, who wants protection on Facebook?????

98% of the Facebook users are throwing there whole life on the innet, wat can BD in heavens name protect with this app.

I'm very disappointed in this BD release so far, although i'm a user since version 8, i think this will be my last BD suite.

The Paranoid mode is a special mode. It is practically the module of opposite module of the Auto Pilot.

It is practically natural to be in this way because it is safer in hostile environment.

Safego on Facebook can protect the account from malware links posted on the Wall. Also the protection is available now for Twitter too.
