Hi folks! :-)

I'm using the TrafficLight extention/Add-on for Firefox and it seems to be working OK.

The reason I'm posting is because I'm not sure how to process the information I get from it.

For example: I go to a website and TrafficLight tells me that there's 1 Tracker - let's say "GoogleAnalytics".

What am I supposed to do with this revelation?

I tried clicking and right-clicking, but can find no FAQ or instructions of any kind to show me HOW to deal with any trackers found.

I've probably overlooked something somewhere, and I'll surely feel silly when I figure out what I missed.

In the meantime though, can someone please advise me how to use TrafficLight properly?

Thanks in advance! :-)

    Hi :)

    Welcome to the forums.

First of all, please read all the details about trackers over here:

Our product warns the users if such codes are embedded in the visited page.

Let me know if you have other questions.

    Take care.

    Hi Christian!

    Thanks for replying!

I have a much better understanding of what Trackers are now, but I still have no idea what to do about the warnings!

(Or are you saying that TrafficLight only reports them, not prevents or block them?)

    Hello

    Welcome back

We can not block trackers because this will mean to block most websites that have ads on them. :)

That's why we provide a warning to let the user know about that websites.

Ads are not dangerous, in most cases they are the only source of money that a webmaster has.

    Thank you.

I am wondering if it can be checked via source code? Tracker such as stat-counter should always be invisible, right? smile2.png

    Hello :)

No tracker is invisible, the code needs to be injected somewhere.

Based on the code, TrafficLight will detect it.

    Take care.
