Autorun.inf

Hey guys, been having this problem on my PC for quite a while (even after formatting!!)

Everytime i insert a USB, BitDefender blocks AutoRun.inf.

And when previously using kaspersky, I would scan my usb drive, and find trojan files with the names (Music.exe, copy.exe)

Now this is strange, because it was even found on my MP3 player, which I NEVER use to upload files in (besides mp3s, of course). It was even created on my cousin's and best friend's phone when they were plugged by a USB to my P.C.

The problem is, I just purchased a new Sony Ericsson phone, and I'm sorta scared to plug it in. I ran a full system scan with BD, no infections were found...

Ugh, I dunno.. :unsure:

Did you clean all devices which you connected via USB to your PC? This kind of trojans infect USB memory sticks, MP3 players, etc, and could also copy themself to your mobile phone, altghough they wouldn't make any damage on it (since they can't be executed on a mobile phone). However, your mobile phone will become a new source of infection (I suppose you have a memory card at your cell phone). You should make sure that your Hard Drive is clean and your USB memory sticks etc. are clean.

This infection injects every drive that is plugged it. I recommend that you do this explore your mp3 player go to the tools menu,folder options,display/view,check show hidden files and folders and press on apply. Now delete the autorun.inf file. Take a look at the system 32 windows subfolder. If autorun is present delete it or quarantaine it. Search also for Music.exe, copy.exe.

Peform another deep scan with BitDefender also with the usb devices attached. Post the location of infected files and also what BitDefender detects it. This for knowing which registry entries that must be deleted also.
