Is there a way to change the Bitdefender 'B' icon for shortcuts/system tray to the Dragon image?

No there is no option available for this.
Even if you change it, all Bitdefender files are protected and during the update the files are redownloaded and replaced.

I just thought it would look better than the boxed 'B'.
I don't think so, most Windows themes are dark and a black wolf won't look that good.
