It seems that many people, myself included, are having problems with different aspects of the Security Widget. In their race to stay ahead of the competition, security suite vendors are always looking for new features to add to their programs. Some of these, such as Safepay, are brilliant. Others, such as the Security Widget, are nothing more than buggy gimmicks, which become a major distraction when they don't work properly.

In a way I know what you're saying...and yes, I agree Safepay is incredible. Yet I think part of the reason, let alone to "keep up with the Jones's", for the Widget was to resolve a request by many to return the Scan/Activity bar of old, and thus the widget now includes that function for file scanning and firewall traffic activity. It may not be all that we want it to be, but they can always improve off their ground work with this Widget. At least if anything, it can be disabled.
