I use XP-SP3 and prefer to manually update the OS, so that I'm not being dogged by Microsoft auto updates, pushing stuff into my PC that I don't need or want (such as Media Player 11, etc). I keep the Microsoft Security Center Automatic Updates notices disabled in XP, but regularly check the update schedule. I also manually update BD.
Since starting to use Bit Defender products (both AV and now the Internet Security suite), I'm finding that after each manual BD update, the Microsoft Security Center notices are all re-activated (default mode). This is irritating and unnecessary. I don't need BD being a proxy mother, telling me when to blow my nose, thank you! Anyone else experiencing this?
