Scheduler Issues

Hi all!

I'm new to BitDefender and I only run the basic free version at the moment. OK I got issues with tasks not being started by the scheduler. I first thought the issue came that I had several tasks, incompatible with eachother, so I left only one active and it worked. But now even that unique task refuses to launch at the scheduled time. Have no idea how to solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

(WinXP Sp2)

OK I just found a thread where the issue has been already related. Sounds from what I read there's no real solution:

well if there's a fix other then deleting a file (the one BitDefender generates to schedule stuff), please let me know.

Comments

  • tried to delete tasks.xml (from my user profile in appl data), rebooted, ot's a no go, no task wants to run when scheduled. Is the feature broken?

  • tried something funny this morning: as usual the scheduler from BD refused to work. So I just unscheduled a task from the interface, made a shortcut to the task, and scheduled that task using the shortcut parameters in Windows scheduler. From there the task could be launched manually, like in the BD interface, and refused to launch automatically at the scheduled time, just like from the BD interface. Which could mean that the inability from BD to run its built-in scheduler doesn't necessarily mean that this scheduler is broken, but that there could be something inside BD that prevents automated tasks to be run, yeah...something...

  • what a cool place...to post to <img class=" /> tens of unanswered posts, think I just joined the club
